Training
TAP provides many training workshops throughout the year designed to strengthen Illinois’ system of care for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by:
1) Increasing the availability and number of appropriately credentialed providers who are trained in administering ASD-specific diagnostics tools;
2) Increasing the number of educators, first responders, day care/child care providers, and primary medical providers who are properly trained in the early identification of ASD
3) Providing education and resources for families and/or caregivers.
TAP ADOS-2 Trainings
The TAP Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd Edition (ADOS-2) workshop is designed for both clinicians and researchers with prior background in autism and formal testing methods. The two-day virtual workshop includes seminar, video examples of module administration, participant scoring, and discussion.
Prior to registering, participants must have familiarity with the ADOS-2 manual and testing kit. Participants will have access to electronic protocol booklets (Modules 1, 2, 3, and 4) through WPS for the duration of the training.
We do not issue CEUs for this training. Attendees will receive a certificate of participation indicating the hours of active participation.
Attending this training is not sufficient for complete competency in the clinical use of the ADOS-2 instrument. Further practice and experience using the instrument is necessary to administer independently. Resources to obtain further practice will be provided as part of the training.
Registration for each workshop opens approximately 30 days in advance and is only open to Illinois residents. The cost is $50.00 per person. Registration is not transferrable.
If you have questions, please contact Mary Kelly at mkelly@hope.us.
