Central Office Staff
José is a graduate of the LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities) program from UIC. He joined TAP in 2011 bringing with him extensive professional and personal knowledge about autism spectrum disorder and the resources/supports necessary to thrive.
José is the father of adult twins who both have an autism diagnosis, he is a member of ICDD (Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities) and he is a senior advisor for Grupo SALTO. José’s diverse experiences both as a professional and as a parent of children with autism lend a unique viewpoint to TAP. He is also tirelessly working to bridge the gap in autism services/supports within the Hispanic community.
About us
The Autism Program of Illinois (TAP) Service Network is a collaboration of 5 universities and 10 organizations that together operate 20 centers across the state. As a network, TAP is able to offer services that respond to the unique needs of different communities across Illinois.
